Cheri began accompanying herself on
the piano and has performed at churches, schools,
programs, conferences, banquets, weddings,
funerals, reunions, two talent shows (taking first place honors at
both), coffee houses, concerts, and graduations.
At age 13, Cheri sang backup for the song "Daddy" on
Michaelangelo and the Difference's first
album, and
in 1999 she sang backup vocals for the latest album
released by The Corbans. At
age sixteen, she recorded a single with two of her
songs, "Window" and "I Promise", which are
available in book and music stores, and have received air play on Christian radio stations in
Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas. "I
Promise", written in the wake of the Oklahoma City
bombing, was awarded second place in it's category
at a songwriters' contest at the 1997 Christian
Artists' Seminar in the Rockies, and was featured
on two Phoenix T.V. news stations on the second
anniversary of the bombing of the Oklahoma Federal
Building.
At age 17, Cheri gave her first full length concert. A few months later the "Parent's of Missing Children Organization" asked her to compose a song and perform it during an opening ceremony for an Arizona Diamondbacks Game. Along with a friend, Cheri composed a duet and they performed the song on the field of the Bank
One Ball Park before a 1998 Arizona Diamondbacks'
game and a crowd of nearly
40,000!
Cheri sang in her highschool
concert choir and chorale and was voted "most
likely to succeed in music." Her other interests
include art, sports, miniatures, and anything creative! She graduated from Phoenix Christian Highschool in 1998.
When people hear her sing, they are
blessed by God's gifting her with unique abilities
as a pianist, her depth of insight as a songwriter,
and especially "That
Voice!"
