In 1999 Cheri worked for a local recording studio and was able to record several songs including Garth Brooks' "To Make You Feel My Love". In August of 1999, she performed this song along with an original song, "Do You Ever" in a Country Showdown contest and won a spot as an opening act for country singer Martina McBride. The concert was held in September at the Celebrity Theatre. Cheri absolutely blew the crowd away and describes that night of the as "One of the best nights of my life!" Only a few weeks later, she was interviewed and sang live on Tim & Willy's Morning Show on KNIX 102.5FM Cheri currently sings at various churches and events. She is in the process of recording an album which will hopefully be available by the end of 2001.
