Cheri's First Solo
at age 3
Although Cheri Potter sang her
first solo at three years old, her music career
really began at age four at a Church talent show.
She belted out "Tomorrow" from the musical "Annie"
and brought people to their feet. The music
minister began having her sing at church and other
functions. Her first Sunday morning solo, "We Shall
Behold Him", earned her the nickname "Sandi Patti
Potter." She began piano lessons the following
year, and discovered an uncanny ability to play a
song after hearing it once.
Cheri Singing "Tomorrow" at age
4
Cheri wrote her first song at age
seven, and began writing more songs at fourteen.
She wrote the music for a song published in a
children's Christmas songbook (David C. Cook,
1995).
